Troubleshooting

The ZixMail for Outlook® 2007 plug-in sometimes becomes "inactive" in Outlook®and will stop displaying. To fix this:

1. In Outlook®, go to Tools > Trust Center > Add-Ins.
2. In the Manage drop-down box at the bottom of the page, select Disabled Items.
3. Click Go.
4. Select ZixMail from the Disabled Items list.
5. Click Enable, then click Close.
6. Click OK to close the Trust Center.
7. Shut down and re-open Outlook® to enable ZixMail.
   
   The ZixMail menu item now displays, as it should.

ZixMail for Outlook® 2007 uses Windows as a source for all proxy settings. To configure your proxy settings for use with ZixMail for Outlook® 2007, go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections and click the LAN settings button.

ZixMail does not support BCC.

You need to decrypt the ZixMail message before forwarding it to another person. You can then forward it or encrypt it for the recipient of the forwarded message.

This error message occurs most often when you attempt to decrypt a non-ZixMail message in Outlook®.

• Ensure that a connection to the Internet exists.
• Check if Internet utilities (personal fire wall, web filters, etc.) are causing the problem.
• Make sure that the email address is less than 129 characters.
• If ZixMail works on other PCs on the network, check that the problem PC has at least 50 MB of free space on the hard drive.
